ACADEMY AND TRAINING RULES

The Academy shall be known as SEAFORD GYMNASTICS ACADEMY
The Academy shall be affiliated to British Gymnastics Association
The Academy shall be affiliated to South East Region and Sussex Gymnastics
All members must be individually affiliated to British Gymnastics
All parents/guardians of members must sign the photography policy attached to a members application form to make it clear that they agree or not to photo's being taken from time to time whether directly or indirectly at such events that the Academy holds.
The Academy will always provide qualified coaches for each and every session
The Academy's aims are to provide General Gymnastics and competitive gymnastics (the later applies if criteria's for competitions received are applicable to the ability of any gymnast whether they are a squad member or NOT) and also that there are coaches available to be able to escort gymnasts to any applicable competition.
Just because a gymnast is a member of the squad does NOT automatically mean they have the right to be chosen for any competitions the Academy receives. These decisions are strictly made at the discretion of the Senior Coaching Committee and they take into account many factors other than ability.
All requested payments must be made when due
Any member's fees or British Gymnastics Membership which are not paid when due may be deemed as not being a member of the Academy
Refunds will only be issued at the discretion of the Academy
The Academy reserves the right to refuse membership to any applicant
Applications to the Academy may be initially offered a trial period before being offered membership
The Academy reserves the right to suspend any member for inappropriate behaviour or any action that may bring the Academy into disrepute this also applies to member's Parents/Guardians
If the cost of the hire facilities rises (currently Newlands School Sports Hall) or other costs incur, the Academy reserves the right to increase their fees accordingly
All gymnasts must arrive on time for the warm up. Any gymnasts arriving more than 10 minutes after the start of a session may not participate in that session
All gymnasts must wear the official Academy strip. There is a reasonable choice of this - please ask a coach for details
Gymnasts must have long hair securely tied back, have bare feet and no jewellery must be worn during training.
The Academy will not be responsible for the loss or damage to any personal belongings
No gymnasts are allowed on any apparatus unless supervised by a coach or given specific instructions to do so by a coach
Gymnasts must only work on the instructions given by the coach
Gymnasts/parents must notify a coach of any injury or medication being taken before commencement of a session. All accidents must be reported to a coach
Gymnasts must always observe good working practices
All gymnasts and parent/carers must be aware of other gymnasts at all times and not distract them
Gymnasts must notify their coach if they are leaving the training area but also MUST NEVER LEAVE THE BUILDING WITH OR WITHOUT THEIR PARENT OR GUARDIAN NOT HAVING TOLD THEIR COACH.
In matters of teaching the coach's word is final
The coach's decision of how they arrange their groups for the sake of safety, numbers and the smooth running of their sessions is final and no gymnast or their parent/guardian is allowed to question their decisions.
Should you wish your child to train at an alternative club (even if on a trial basis) you must notify their coach at Seaford Gymnastics Academy prior to doing so
Any person coming into contact with the Academy must adhere to the Academies code of conduct
SGA adopts the BG Child Protection Policy, does not tolerate bullying and operates as an equal opportunities Academy
The Academy has a British Gymnastics Recognised Welfare Officer (Mrs. Lynn Hill) and any problems or concerns regarding aspects of the Academy and its members will involve the Welfare Officer.
All information pertaining to gymnasts is kept confidential and only shared when necessary with authorised organisations (ie) BG.
STATEMENT
Seaford Gymnastics Academy has the provision of a spectator's balcony; however they are not obliged to have this facility. If there is disruption due to excessive noise or other inappropriate behaviour from the balcony, we reserve the right to close it.
THIS DOES NOT BREACH BRITISH GYMNASTICS OPEN DOOR POLICY AS WE HAVE FULL GLASS PANELS IN OUR GYM DOORS.
